Applying

What happens after I submit my application online?

Our HR Team will review your application and will be in touch within a few business days if you are a good fit on the 4Seasons Transportation team.

Can I apply as a School Bus Driver if I only have a Class 5 licence?

Yes! We provide complimentary training to help you achieve a Class 4 commercial licence for school bus driving.

What if I have a Class 5 GDL licence?

If you have a Class 5 GDL licence, we ask that you have the GDL portion removed. This is done by booking a Class 5 driver’s test at your local Alberta registry.

Why do you require 6 years of consecutive Canadian insured driving experience?

This requirement ensures each individual has the experience to drive safely in all weather conditions.

What if I don’t have 6 years of consecutive Canadian insured driving experience?

If you have gaps in your vehicle insurance, or currently do not have vehicle insurance, we will be unable to move forward in the hiring process.

How long should I wait before applying again?

We ask that all applicants wait at least 6 months before re-applying to a position.

Interviewing

What do I need to bring to a job interview or hiring fair?

Please bring your resume, driver’s licence, a second piece of government ID (healthcare card, passport or PR card) and any certifications pertaining to the position.

Do I need to bring a Police Check or Driver Abstract to the interview?

No. Our HR Team will take care of these document requests.

Can I bring my friend, partner or children with me to a job interview or hiring fair?

We ask that you come by yourself as our job interviews and hiring fairs include a one-on-one conversation.

What are your COVID-19 interview procedures?

We’ve added additional health and safety measures to ensure you have a safe and comfortable interview experience. In addition to staff wearing PPE, physical distancing, and frequently cleaning all office surfaces, we provide candidates with hand sanitizer, face masks and gloves.

On the Job

What are the physical requirements of the job?

The ability to push and pull 50 lbs. and bending/kneeling is required in the day-to-day tasks of being a School Bus Driver. These physical requirements ensure drivers can safely secure wheelchairs and assist students in loading and unloading daily, as well as in the event of an emergency.

Do you drive big school buses?

4Seasons Transportation uses small buses and minivans, which make it much easier to drive children to and from school.

How do the routes work?

The route starts or ends in your area of the city. We do our best to match drivers to routes beginning or ending near their homes to reduce travel time.

Do School Bus Drivers need to take their school buses to and from a lot each day?

No. Drivers get to take their buses home, which means they save time driving to and from the lot to pick up and drop off their school bus each day. Buses can be parked on a driveway or on the street.

How do you keep School Bus Drivers and Attendants safe on the job?

Our COVID-19 procedures are in alignment with Alberta Health, the World Health Organization and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. School Bus Drivers and Attendants are provided with masks, gloves, disinfectant and hand sanitizer. We also practice physical distancing, daily COVID-19 screening, and symptom and exposure protocol.
