National AccessAbility Week takes place every year starting on the last Sunday in May.

This year it runs from May 30 to June 5, 2021. National Accessibility Week is an opportunity to celebrate the valuable contributions of Canadians with disabilities and recognize the efforts of individuals, communities and workplaces that are removing barriers to accessibility and inclusion.

We all have the ability to make Canada more inclusive and accessible, and we can each take part in the Accessible Canada Act. The Accessible Canada Act aims to make Canada barrier-free by January 1, 2040. The Act proactively eliminates and prevents barriers to ensure greater opportunities for individuals with disabilities through accessible:

  • Employment
  • Buildings and public spaces
  • Information and communication technologies
  • Goods and service purchases
  • Program and service design and delivery
  • Transportation

We all have something to contribute when it comes to making Canada more accessible and inclusive. At 4Seasons, we’re committed to providing barrier-free transportation to ensure children with disabilities receive equal opportunity to education so they can learn, grow, thrive and reach their full potential.

This National Accessibility Week, show your solidarity and support and join in Red Shirt Day on Wednesday, June 2. This is a day when people across Canada come together and wear red – in schools, workplaces and spaces everywhere in order to create a visible display of solidarity. By wearing red, you will show your support for individuals living with disabilities, celebrate the achievements of people living with disabilities, and pledge your commitment to help create a fully accessible and inclusive society that honours and values the contributions of people of all abilities in all aspects of life in Canada.

Share your solidarity and support online. Post a picture of your red shirt with the hashtags #AccessAbilityWeek and #RedShirtDay on social media.
